This week on The HuSTLe, we focus our attention on three gifted St. Louis hip-hop artists that have released countless projects. This week we sit through the music of Ackurate, Supreme Sol & Bo Dean.
New York born, St. Louis based hip-hop artist Ackurate is no stranger to the TeamBackPack platform. Released in 2015, Soul Misfit showcases his signature vocal tone and lyrical ability. With three projects under his belt and multiple projects on the way, the one I’m looking forward to the most is his project dedicated to Dj Premiere titled “The Premier Tape”, which is expected to be release on April 15. Watch his video “Vibes” below.
At the young age of 22, Supreme Sol is already six projects deep. Known for his unique rapid-fire delivery and collaborations with United Kingdom producer Handbook, Supreme Sol is highly influenced by Ras Kass, Immortal Technique, and Canibus. His recently released project, 3.21.95, is an EP dedicated to his life as it was released on his birthday. Watch the Handbook produced “Wanting You” video below.
Bo Dean is one of St. Louis’ gems that will rhyme bar for bar with some of your favorite spitters – KXNG Crooked & Freeway . Back in 2012, Bo Dean recruited Dj Smallz & Dj Shure Fire for the highly impressive project titled #MashUp. On #MashUp, Bo Dean spits over various instrumentals as they switch up throughout the song causing Bo to switch up his flow, delivery and even subject matter on each beat. Bo Dean also has collaborative projects with St. Louis favorites The Domino Effect as TriAtomic & with T Dubb O as Bruce vs. Bane. On his most recent project, Fromerica, he puts his own perspective on events in black America, from the civil rights movement to Ferguson. Watch his video “ChiChi” below.
